So, I apologize to those who are watching my gallery for the lack of recent activity!  School's been a real bear over the past week or two - with midterms rearing their ugly heads again.

Updates are coming however!  I'm not sure if I want to start adding my studio photography shot + body assignments up here- though there are a couple I feel proud of.  Still, they tend to seem kind of sterile.  I suppose that's that nature of having to take 'stock' style photographs for class.  There's only so much that can be done with typography at that point!

Also, We have a trip planned for the Portland Zoo on Saturday.  Exciting! For the occasion, I finally had the proper motivation to acquire a decent telephoto lens.  Well, at least something about the stock 18-55mm that came with my camera body! :D  I now have a Sigma 70-300mm AF/macro lens.  Testing last night?  It's not so bad!  

Now.. if I could only figure out how yo modify my deviant art journal?  All would be set. :D

Spring Break

Well, I can't believe it's just about over already!!   Though, this /does/  mean that I'll be starting yet another photography class this term.  Studio photography, which means more things to post, once class gets under way.

Unfortunately, it's an 8:30am class.  Bleh.  Let's hope my creativity is actually ACTIVE that early in the morning, yeah? :)

A question for all you photography inclined

Originally, when I went back to school, I was dead set on being a 3D animation artist.  Well, as I'm sure my gallery shows - I've developed a love for photography.  And of course, with the fascination for my Cannon EOS Rebel XL?  Comes the lust for lenses.

At the moment, I only have my 18 - 55mm kit lens, but I'm looking at expanding some.  What would you suggest for a telephoto, and macro?  I've got a couple of ideas but.. I wanted to hear more from those with experience!

Adventuring!

So, I've realized that, since I started taking photos around town?  I've actually started exploring Salem, OR more.  I've been here.. almost two years now, and yet - I'm finally realizing how little I know about the town!

So far, I've found a couple of different parks, and one of the few all wooden carousels in the United States since the 1920's.  Pretty amazing!

Now, I need to find more places to shoot.  I've been using a lot of my stock/artistic photography in various layout projects recently.  Hrm.  Maybe a cemetery, or an orchard if I can make my way into one.  

Anyone have any suggestions? :D

So, I've noticed that a lot of my creativity comes from characters I play during games.  It doesn't matter the game, I'll make an image to associate the character too without fail.

Problem is... Im not really playing in anything right now. ;.;  So, my creativity has wained with it.  Though I DID create an image for a game called Popomundo.  www.popomundo.com -- A game where you work your way up to being a rockstar.  Fun stuff.  Anyways, the GF's account is an Elecrronica artist (not by her choice)  under the performing name DJ Hampster dance.. wich I made a picture of. :D :D  Check it out!
